Throughout the Division, the organization operates 38 worship and service centers led by Corps Officers/ministers, nine service centers managed by Salvation Army employees, over 100 service unit extensions run by volunteers and a number of customized programs throughout the Western Pennsylvania Division. Specialty programs include the Family Caring Center (a homeless shelter in Pittsburgh’s East Liberty neighborhood), Harbor Light Center (a residential treatment program for men with drug and alcohol dependency on the north side of Pittsburgh), Emergency Disaster Services (a program that serves first-responders and victims of disasters), two dental centers in each Oil City and Johnstown, Pennsylvania (providing preventative and restorative treatments to individuals with varying insurance coverage and income), Camp Allegheny (a residential camp and conference center providing a broad array of recreational, educational and spiritual programs for both youth and adults located in Ellwood City, Pennsylvania) and the Adult Rehabilitation Centers (ARC) (a residential rehabilitation program for men with social handicaps and/or substance abusers located in Erie, Altoona and Pittsburgh).
