A wide swath of tornado destruction has claimed at least 26 lives and leveled thousands of buildings in the southern United States. Mississippi was hit hardest by a massive tornado, but severe storms also ravaged parts of Alabama, Tennessee, and Georgia. Rescuers continue to sift through the rubble as emergency help arrives in the area. Even as residents survey the damage to their homes and communities, more storms are forecast to batter the area.

The devastation and loss will take a lasting toll on the people of these close-knit cities and towns, which are among the poorest and most vulnerable in the country. For many, recovery will be long and difficult as they struggle to rebuild their homes, businesses and gathering places. We can help in the effort to restore communities and the people who make them vibrant.

By donating to this giving opportunity, you will be supporting the American Red Cross as they work directly to speed the recovery process.

  • American Red Cross: Making sure everyone has a safe place to stay, meals, emotional support and comfort in the face of this deadly tornado. We have mobilized relief supplies and disaster workers and are working with local and state officials to help ensure people get the help they need.
