The Salvation Army Harrisburg Capital City Region provides 11 diverse programs and services to benefit more than 20,000 people within Central PA each year. Our services include basic needs assistance through a weekday hot breakfast program, clothing and utility assistance, choice shopping food pantry, Family Table cooking and nutrition classes in our 8-station teaching kitchen. Self-sufficiency mentoring and workforce development programs help families achieve long-term stability by focusing on employment, stable housing, reliable transportation and budgeting. To break the cycle of poverty, we provide structured youth programs, including afterschool programs in Harrisburg and Steelton, early childhood education in partnership with Head Start, Summer Youth Enrichment, basketball mentoring, performing arts and more.
