di The Salvation Army Eastern TerritoryThe Salvation Army in Syracuse provides services and programs for individuals living in the City of Syracuse and throughout Onondaga County.
They offer 40 unique programs to individuals and families from the very young to oldest members of our community. Touching nearly 40,000 lives annually, programs and services provided include;
• Counseling and home visiting supportive services for families who are struggling because of family violence, needing parenting education or with teenagers experiencing behavioral health and educational issues.
• Emergency Housing for Women and Supportive permanent housing for individuals who are homeless and have struggled with long term mental health issues.
• Emergency and basic needs services that include, food baskets for the family, rental assistance, furniture for individuals and families moving from homelessness to permanent housing, assisting with enrolling in health insurance and advocacy for eligible entitlement supports.
• Emergency and supportive housing for youth and young adults who are homeless or at-risk including teen mothers and their infants, runaway teens, youth engaged in human trafficking and teens involved in the juvenile justice system. Additional services include case management, street outreach, life skills training and educational supports.
• Worship, spiritual ministry and pastoral care in both English and Spanish languages.
• Early Education centers for over 140 infants, toddlers and pre-school age children working in collaboration with Universal Pre-kindergarten, Head Start and Early Head Start curriculums.
• Homeless Family Emergency Shelter; serving families of any configuration including single fathers and their children, with 82 beds available for any family without a place to call home.
• Adult Day Center providing supportive services and daily activities for well and frail seniors, over the age of 60, that includes transportation, nutritious breakfast and lunch and weekly outings
