Improving the quality of life for schools in Kenya by increasing access to water
, Polska Akcja Humanitarna|Polish Humanitarian ActionPolish Humanitarian Action will use the money to improve the quality of life for school communities in Kenya by increasing access to water through an innovative approach to sustaine grey water recycling.
The project focuses on two schools, seeking to provide sustainable solutions to the water challenges that they are facing. This includes the introduction of plant-based water sewage systems, which recycle and reuse water for various purposes such as handwashing, dishwashing, irrigation for school gardens and cleaning.
The project will enhance the overall security and well-being of the school communities by ensuring access to clean water, promoting hygiene and sanitation practices, and mitigating health risks associated with waterborne diseases. Through the successful implementation of the project, the participating schools will experience cost savings by reducing their reliance on external water sources and improving their resilience to water scarcity challenges.
This project combines innovative solutions, community engagement and capacity-building to address water scarcity, improve sanitation facilities, and enhance education opportunities. By fostering sustainable practices and leveraging partnerships, we aim to create lasting positive change and contribute to the overall well-being and resilience of the target communities
